The Prince and the Coachline Painter

February 23rd, 2012

Rolls-Royce have commissioned a series of short films telling extraordinary stories about extraordinary motor cars. We call them 21st Century Legends. In this film, we focus on coachline painter Mark Court. Mark’s meticulously steady hand is responsible for painting every coachline– and his skill comes in ensuring a seamless join as he moves down the 6-metre length of a car. While he usually works out of Goodwood, adding the finishing touches to cars before they are delivered to their owners, the quest for perfection took Mark and his squirrel hair brushes to the desert of Dubai to add his unique signature to a prince’s Rolls-Royce after it had left the factory.

2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost– Video Test Drive and Review with Chris Moran

February 14th, 2012

2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost– Video Test Drive and Review The 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost is the latest model to come from this storied manufacturer, and it’s positioned as the brand’s entry-level vehicle. At a quarter-million dollars worth of starting price, that’s quite a misnomer. But considering its Phantom sibling will set you back 0000 and its namesake forebears — the 1906-’26 Silver Ghosts — are typically valued in the millions, perhaps the new Ghost is a relative bargain. The 2010 Ghost is all but guaranteed to embody class-leading performance and comfort. True, it is based on a BMW 760Li (BMW owns Rolls-Royce), but Rolls says the Ghost only shares about 20 percent of its construction with the big BMW. Rolls-Royce is also quick to point out that everything you see and touch is all-new and exclusive to the brand. As with all Rolls-Royce vehicles, the new Ghost surrounds occupants in top-notch luxury and unmistakable style. Attention to detail and craftsmanship border on the obsessive. Back in the old days, Rolls-Royce didn’t quote engine output but rather stated that it was “sufficient.” Under the Ghost’s long hood lies a larger version of BMW’s new twin-turbo V12. This potent yet silky-smooth power plant produces a “sufficient” 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque. Equally impressive is the fact that all of that torque is available at only 1500 rpm, which makes this substantial automobile feel light on its tires. An eight-speed automatic transmission — also

2011 Rolls Royce Ghost Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Tour

January 29th, 2012

Although not entirely “all new” for 2011, the Rolls Royce ghost was introduced in 2010 as an all new model in the Rolls Royce lineup, the smaller sibling if you will to the phantom. It boasts it’s own unique variation of styling, but doesn’t fall short of borrowing some styling cues from the phantom. The Ghost also shares the BMW 7 series platform and contains a lot of the similar telemetrics interfaces as the 7 series making it quite easy to get the hang of if you’re familiar with the systems. Itake viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
