1998 Sunfire heater?
I can not get this car to keep warm in cold weather. I am totally stuck radiator – I have bled all the air cooling system and I have installed three separate thermostats. The thermostat can not be installed upside in these cars. And blessed temperature gauge barely moves in the winter. When I lived in Ontario, she was a minor inconvenience. I now live in Northern Saskatchewan and I am freezing my ass off with the heater going full bore. What is wrong with this car (besides being a Sunfire)? Is it possible that someone has installed the accessory belt incorrectly and the water pump is spinning backwards. The sticker the position of the belt is missing. The heater core is very good – good drainage. It is the engine that is not hot. In hot weather, the engine is warm and the heater blows really HOT! The heater core is very good – good drainage. the heater core may be blocked if you can remove the two hoses to the core heart From the engine side ……. take a garden hose and try to uncover the core …. also try to just turn the heat controlknob while the flush … if it does not rinse then may be the inlet valve water is bad or stuck closed the valve may be located on the right wing wall near the firewall or it may be inside the car inside the dashboard, but im not sure of models and years …… veri Also distributor Vacum which operates the door of the heat may need to be replaced … … If you are not able to understand this try a repair or Automotive Repair Manual Chilton
