That sounds like a bad alternator … or something else?
1989 Buick Riviera. The car has a humming / growling noise coming from the side accessories engine. The rumbling noise rises and falls with RPM and doesn't stop until the car is off. He was hesitant and malfunctioning since 2 weeks and yesterday is dead and would not reboot completely (dead battery). We got it towed home and jump after 5 minutes to start, it is running fine again.
Could be the alternator or any of your accessories. Remove the drive belt every ACC and turn the component hand. When you find the rough or noisy bearing it have you found your problem. Remember that this could be water pump.
