2012 BMW 3-Series Test Drive & Luxury Car Review

April 5th, 2012

www.autobytel.com The 2012 BMW 3-Series is now in its 6th generation. This platform has been around in the US since 1977. If you are looking at entry-level luxury sedans then the 3-Series has to be at the top of your list. Every single competitor car in this segment tries to beat out the BMW 3-Series. Mercedes has the C-Class, Audi the A4, Infiniti the G37, Lexus the IS line; but none can stack up to the 2012 BMW 3-Series. There are a handful of different 3-Series models including the 335i and the 328i. Prices vary from 900 for the very base model 328i up to over 000 with the 335is convertible model. But it is this base 2012 BMW 328i that is featured here. The 328i base is powered by a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. Power is put down to the rear wheels through either an 8-speed transmission or a 6-speed manual. Fuel economy figures are outstanding at 24 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. There is something called ECO PRO mode that teaches the driver how to drive more efficiently. The interior of the 2012 BMW 3-Series is modern and sophisticated. You can get a variety of leather and trim pieces. But it’s the technology factor where the BMW 3-Series really excels. Now there is a really trick heads-up display system that projects vehicle data onto the windshield in front of the driver. You can get onboard navigation along with a parking assist feature. The 3-Series is also loaded with tons of BMW

2012 Audi A6 Test Drive & Luxury Car Review

April 1st, 2012

www.autobytel.com The 2012 Audi A6 is part of the mid-sized luxury car segment that has been dominated by the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. But the Audi A6 really outshines those other cars. The 2012 Audi A6 has a base price of 700 which is a couple thousand dollars cheaper than those cars mentioned above; not to mention the Audi A6 looks the best and features a ton of really cool features. Plus you get Audi’s World Famous LED headlights! The 2012 Audi A6 is powered by a 3.0 liter direct injected V-6 which produces 310 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque. This may not seem like much but with the combination of an 8-speed automatic transmission and Quattro AWD; the 2012 Audi A6 accelerates from 0-60 MPH in 5.3 seconds. Fuel economy for this engine is 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. There is a second engine option on this luxury car. The Audi A6 is the only vehicle in its class to be offered with a 4-cylinder engine. This is the same engine that is found in the Audi A3 and the Audi A4. The 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder makes 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The great thing about his engine is that it helps the Audi A6 achieve better fuel economy at 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. These are about the best figures for a non-hybrid mid-sized luxury car. On the inside the 2012 Audi A6 really leaves the competition in the dust. This luxury car is the only one in its class that features a pop-up navigation system. The

www.autobytel.com The 2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan R-Spec is a real screamer. With a Direct Injection 5.0 liter V-8 engine, the Genesis R-Spec cranks out 427 horsepower and 376 lb-ft. of torque. This power is channeled through an 8-speed transmission. Fuel economy remains respectable with the Genesis R-Spec netting 16 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. There are many nice refinements and changes on the 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec. The chrome grille features color matched accents and the headlights have a really cool line of LED lights. The Genesis R-Spec rocks huge 19-inch wheels with high performance tires. On the inside the Genesis R-Spec is all luxury and technology. 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost– Video Test Drive and Review with Chris Moran

February 14th, 2012

2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost– Video Test Drive and Review The 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost is the latest model to come from this storied manufacturer, and it’s positioned as the brand’s entry-level vehicle. At a quarter-million dollars worth of starting price, that’s quite a misnomer. But considering its Phantom sibling will set you back 0000 and its namesake forebears — the 1906-’26 Silver Ghosts — are typically valued in the millions, perhaps the new Ghost is a relative bargain. The 2010 Ghost is all but guaranteed to embody class-leading performance and comfort. True, it is based on a BMW 760Li (BMW owns Rolls-Royce), but Rolls says the Ghost only shares about 20 percent of its construction with the big BMW. Rolls-Royce is also quick to point out that everything you see and touch is all-new and exclusive to the brand. As with all Rolls-Royce vehicles, the new Ghost surrounds occupants in top-notch luxury and unmistakable style. Attention to detail and craftsmanship border on the obsessive. Back in the old days, Rolls-Royce didn’t quote engine output but rather stated that it was “sufficient.” Under the Ghost’s long hood lies a larger version of BMW’s new twin-turbo V12. This potent yet silky-smooth power plant produces a “sufficient” 563 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque. Equally impressive is the fact that all of that torque is available at only 1500 rpm, which makes this substantial automobile feel light on its tires. An eight-speed automatic transmission — also
